Berlin Highlights at a Glance
For this tour, plan in a full day. Start your day in Berlin with a breathtaking view over the city: From the highest vantage point in the city: the Berlin TV Tower. After you‘ve enjoyed this first panoramic glimpse, you‘ll have plenty of options to choose from. At the foot of the TV tower is Little BIG City. In this miniature city you can experience an interactive time travel through seven different eras of the city. You can also learn more about Berlin‘s past at the DDR Museum, right on the river Spree. Here you can learn a lot about what daily life was like in the GDR and what it was like to live with the Wall.
On the opposite side, in the newly opened Humboldt Forum, you can catch a comprehensive glimpse of the city’s affairs and its global connections in the Berlin Exhibition BERLIN GLOBAL. Just a short walk away you will encounter the DeJa Vu Museum, where illusions and deceptions toy with your senses. The modern Pei building, modelled on the German Historical Museum, features temporary exhibitions that explore social developments in Germany.
You can find a little diversion from the exclusive culture, for example at the SEA LIFE Berlin. Here you will be greeted by a fascinating underwater cosmos and the beautiful world of the oceans. Not quite so relaxing, but definitely worth a visit, is the Berlin Dungeon a short walk away. Awaiting you here are spooky dark stories from Berlin‘s past.
For kids under eleven, a visit to the LEGOLAND® Discovery Centre Berlin is highly recommended. The LEGO Indoor playground is ideal for children from three to ten years old.
Enjoy a very special city tour with TimeRide. The virtual reality city tour shows the history of Berlin in the 20th century on site. Thanks to the mobile VR glasses, you will be catapulted directly into the various eras.
Or you can cycle along the many sights and let Berlin on Bike navigate and guide you through the city. You can get to know Berlin more comfortably on a bus tour, for example with Berlin City Tour, Berlin City Circle Sightseeing or the Hop-on Hop-off tours. If you prefer, you can also get to know the city through the water with the Bruno Winkler Cruises or the Hadynski Cruises. In the evening, let your soul unwind and reminisce about the day: Take a dip in the warm saltwater pool featuring underwater music in the LIQUIDROM or above the rooftops of Spandau in the David Lloyd Meridian Berlin Spandau Arcaden.
How about an exhilarating evening at the BKA–Berliner Kabarett Anstalt or at one of Germany‘s most renowned theatres – the Berliner Ensemble?
