Pergamonmuseum. Das Panorama

The exhibition Pergamonmuseum. Das Panorama takes its visitors on an impressive journey back in time to the year 129 AD, where they can admire the ancient city of Pergamon on the west coast of Asia Minor in its former glory. In his 360° panorama, artist Yadegar Asisi reconstructs the state of the city during the heyday of the Roman Empire under the rule of Emperor Hadrian (117-138 AD).

Masterpieces from the ancient city with a 360° panorama

The exhibition building shows a spectacular multimedia exhibition on the ancient metropolis of Pergamon. In addition to 80 original sculptures, including the largest part of the Telephos Frieze from the Pergamon Altar, a gigantic, 30-metre-high 360° panorama by Yadegar Asisi shows the Pergamon Altar and the hustle and bustle of the ancient city. Based on the latest digital 3-D technology, the famous giant frieze of the Pergamon Altar is also shown, the original of which must remain there during the renovation of the Pergamon Museum.

The current panorama is also the result of a comprehensive revision. In close cooperation with the team of the Collection of Classical Antiquities, some 40 new scenes were carefully conceived and seamlessly integrated into the existing image.

The exhibition Pergamon Museum. Das Panorama combines the findings of years of archaeological and architectural research with the work of contemporary artist Yadegar Asisi and offers a captivating experience, especially for anyone with a passion for the ancient world.
