The Museumsdorf Düppel is a unique place where the history and culture of the region can be experienced up close. The village was opened in 1975 as an open-air museum and offers visitors an insight into the life of people in the Middle Ages. It consists of several original buildings, including dwellings, a smithy or a granary.
In the entrance area of the open-air museum, a multimedia exhibition "Life in the Middle Ages" offers insights into the everyday life of the rural population in the Middle Ages. The period around 1200 was marked by immigration from the West and the founding of the Mark Brandenburg in the Slavic-populated region around Berlin. A timeline in the exhibition makes the development of the region visible and shows how the landscape has changed over the centuries.
The Museumsdorf Düppel offers a special experience for the whole family with a variety of activities such as workshops and guided tours. Young and old alike can gain insights into the past and experience traditional crafts. A visit is definitely worthwhile!
