Join us on a food and history tour of East Berlin, where you’ll experience the remarkable transformation of this once bleak, communist area into one of Europe’s most diverse, vibrant, and fascinating neighborhoods.. Walk from East Berlin to the West, visiting diverse international communities and tasting their contributions to Berlin’s evolving food scene.

Throughout the tour, you will try foods that make Berlin such a culinary marvel, from German classics like Schnitzel, Currywurst, and Beer, to post-war immigrant cuisine such as a flavor-filled Shawarma Döner, a traditional Syrian Mezze dish, and an innovative Vietnamese Taco! 

We will also lead you around many lesser-known landmarks in the East, including an old industrial zone used by both the Nazis and Soviets, recently transformed into a community-driven space, complete with a WW2 bunker that’s now a rock-climbing wall, and the World’s Smallest Disco!

After a brief history lesson on the real people and circumstances behind the rise and fall of the Berlin Wall, we end the tour at the East Side Gallery: the longest remaining stretch of the Wall in the city, and the World’s Largest Open-Air Art Gallery.
