MeMu – Menschenmuseum at Alexanderplatz gives visitors a unique opportunity to peek under the skin of the human body. Opened in 2015 by Dr. Angelina Whalley and Dr. Gunther von Hagens, the creators of BODY WORLDS, this is the first museum of its kind that is solely focused on the human body. The main aim of the exhibits here is to make people aware of the processes that happen inside the body every single day – when they stand upright, move, breathe, and even laugh. A detailed explanation of all of these processes is given in English as well as German.

Uncover layers of history

An array of museums, three UNESCO World Heritage Sites, over 10 Michelin-star restaurants, three opera houses, impressive nightlife, and a rich history make Berlin a stand-out travel destination. From its colourful street-art murals to buzzing café culture, simply walking through the city's streets is a pleasure. Yet the capital is home to amazing 20th-century historical sites such as Checkpoint Charlie, remnants of the Berlin Wall and the Memorial to the Murdered Jews of Europe. Travel further back in time at attractions such as Charlottenburg Palace, Berlin Cathedral and the Nikolai Quarter. Or experience a cutting-edge attraction at MeMu - Menschenmuseum.

Inside the human body

The resilience, complexity and vulnerability of the human body is on display for everyone to see at MeMu - Menschenmuseum. There are more than 200 plastinates (preserved parts or bodies of humans) that help to educate visitors about the workings of the individual human organs as well as the effects that common diseases have on the human body. With its anatomical exhibits and wonderful curation, MeMu - Menschenmuseum is an outstanding educational and engaging visit.
