Body

Travellers who have the Berlin WelcomeCard can enjoy discounts at the Black Box Cold War exhibition and history museum, where contemporary history is presented in a dynamic way. One does not have to be a history aficionado to visit and enjoy this open-air exhibition at the Berliner Forum für Geschichte und Gegenwart.

This exhibition is dedicated to the famous East-West conflict called the Cold War, and presents details of the events from 1945 to 1990 with authentic exhibits and large-format photos. The Cuban missile crisis, the Korean War, and other aspects of the Cold War are displayed here.

Berlin and Its Top Attractions

The capital city of Germany invites visitors to experience its many museums, clubs, historic structures, and cultural events. It can be difficult to choose just a few places and experiences while visiting Berlin. The Museum Island, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is home to some of the oldest museums in the city, including the Old National Gallery and Old Museum.

The Berlin Television Tower, Berlin’s tallest structure, is another popular attraction. A spectacular 360° panoramic view of the city is what attracts visitors to the tower. Having a Berlin WelcomeCard can get visitors a discount at the entrance. This traveller ticket also has the Black Box Cold War as a partner.

The Black Box Cold War Experience

At the Black Box Cold War, visitors get the opportunity to learn about the many aspects of the famous confrontation between the West and the East Bloc. Features of this museum include:

  •  Several original pieces from the Cold War era
  •  A model of the T-62 tank, used in battle by the former Soviet Union
  •  A location close to Checkpoint Charlie, another historic site of Berlin

Advantages of a Berlin WelcomeCard
